One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Kids will enjoy Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. The adventure continues: take some stellar pictures from N Seoul Tower, admire the natural beauty at Namsan Park, get a taste of the local shopping with Myeongdong Shopping Street, and examine the collection at Love Museum.

Bangkok, Thailand to Seoul is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, car, bus, ferry, and subway. You'll lose 2 hours traveling from Bangkok to Seoul due to the time zone difference. While traveling from Bangkok, expect much colder days and little chillier nights in Seoul, ranging from highs of 22°C to lows of 21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Mon) early enough to catch the flight to Busan.

Busan — 2 nights

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
On the 16th (Mon), stroll around Yongdusan Park, hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market, then take some stellar pictures from Taejongdae, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haedong Yonggungsa, and finally don't miss a visit to Haeundae Cinema Street. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 17th (Tue): take in the views from Busan Harbor Bridge, then enjoy the sand and surf at Gwangalli Beach, then kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, and finally snap pictures at Gwangandaegyo Bridge.

Traveling by flight from Seoul to Busan takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. When traveling from Seoul in October, plan for a bit warmer days and little chillier nights in Busan: temperatures range from 26°C by day to 15°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Wed) so you can catch the flight to Jeju.

Island of the Gods

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
Family-friendly places like Seongsan Ilchulbong and Hamdeok Beach will thrill your kids. Change things up with a short trip to Halla Mountain in Seogwipo (about 44 minutes away). There's lots more to do: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, kick back and relax at Hyeopjae Beach, stroll around Hallim Park, and take in the pleasant sights at Handam Coastal Trail.

Traveling by flight from Busan to Jeju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, taxi, and ferry. Traveling from Busan in October, Jeju is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 23°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sat) early enough to fly back home.
