Create an itinerary including Bastakia Quarter
Step back into old Dubai at Bastakia Quarter, a preserved portion of town showcasing traditional architecture and an ancient way of life. Stroll through the neighborhood's narrow streets to admire the courtyard houses and their tall wind towers. Decorative and practical adornments, these towers were once the best way of cooling homes in the unforgiving heat of the desert. The area's scenic location by the creek offers a pleasant introduction to the city's heritage, with a museum and cultural center alongside the traditional homes. • Bastakia is the old name for the place where its new name is Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood. Old city of Dubai, narrow streets, shops and cafes.

  • This is a beautiful area of Dubai - one of the few areas preserved to look like how it was hundreds of years ago! There are various museums, restaurants, shops, and beautiful alleyways to wander down - you can take a great picture anywhere! Even if you’re only in Dubai for a day or two, I would say it’s worth coming here to see a different side of the city from what we are all accustomed to. If you visit Al Fahidi Historical area, be sure to go down by the river for a great view, and if you’re here in summer, be prepared it is HOT! So bring sunscreen and water because it’s all outside. Really unique place and I’ll definitely return!
  • History is well maintained and protected. It's always great to walk through the past trails. The traditional buildings and architecture is so beautifully kept. It's a must visit place in Dubai. I would prefer to visit here in night time next time.
