Walking around the Loch is fairly easy, and part of the Rothiemurchus marked network of paths. It was voted as Britain’s Best Picnic Spot in 2010, so don’t forget to bring a basket. Lovely walk, stunning views. Mostly flat so not too demanding, unfortunately I didn’t see any red squirrels! Took about 1.5hours to walk round the loch.

Beautiful, breathtaking, and serene! Lovely to walk around the loch and different terrain also. There's a public toilet and it's quite clean as well. If you're driving, gotta pay for parking fees of £4.50. Or, you can walk from town center which a quite decent and lovely 1-1.5 hr walk. There's a stable on the way and it's lovely. One of my favorite places 💕💕💕

Great walk around the Loch. When you find the right spot just opposite the castle, you will be able to hear an echo around the loch. We would appreciate a bit more signage along the walk to invite us further along the trail.
