  • Fabulous, friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff nothing was too much trouble…. From giving me a wheelchair to get to the visitor centre to coming to find me when they saw a red squirrel...

  • Loch Garten is truly spectacular not only for its gorgeous splendour but because it offers so much more than just its body of water. Surrounded by dense forest mapped out with various trails to be explored, you'll view the Loch from the trails as you explore further. If you're lucky, as we were, you'll be serenaded by cuckoos and songbirds. Its ideal for those who prefer flatter walks and there are plenty of resting places so you can draw in its sheer beauty. Dogs welcome but leads at all times to protect the Capercaillie. It's a rare breed and May is breeding season.. we managed about 6 miles with going off track so you may benefit from a mapping app such as OSM+.
  • Amazing place to visit, part of ancient Caledonian forest, just walk and breath deep that wonderful pine scent! If you have time the RSPB centre is a really nice place to visit, if you are lucky you can see the famous Ospreys but there is always something interesting to see (we saw White Tailed Eagles and Goshawks on the live cams) and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable 👍
