Visible from this observation point are the city’s main shopping district and the historic Edinburgh Castle. Easily accessible on foot or by car, the hill is home to several historic memorials and buildings, including the National Monument and the City Observatory. On the steep southern slope of the hill you can also visit the Scottish Parliament building, Holyrood Palace, and the old Royal High School.
