Create an itinerary including Falkirk Wheel
Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boatlift in Scotland, connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. This engineering phenomenon attracts over 400,000 tourists every year to its visitor's center. Take a boat ride on the lift and into the canal to experience the ingenious mechanism. A boat departs from the harbor every hour, so you'll have frequent opportunities throughout the day to tour the canal and admire the lift's operation. The channel connects Glasgow with Edinburgh, so consider using it as your means of transport when touring these two great cities. • A good tourist attraction in Scotland. We went on the tour and heard all about how it was invented (using Lego models to demonstrate how it would work). Very interesting. Worth a visit. We then had a nice walk along the canal. We walked through a tunnel with lots of colourful lights. And then we saw the canal gates open which was also really good! The children loved that!
  • Much better than I'd expected. Really impressive construction. Do not visit without going on the boat rotation. Its fairly good value. We did the 30 min option and it was great. Loads of information about the wheel. Impressive that it's the only one in the world.
