West Highland Museum
The collections displayed at West Highland Museum narrate the rich history of the Scottish Highlands and its people. Spread over three floors, the museum's seven galleries trace the story of this mountainous region in the western part of the country, with special focus on the influence and significance of the Jacobite political movement. Don't miss the collection's highlight, an 18th-century portrait of Bonnie Prince Charlie, known as the instigator of the unsuccessful Jacobite uprising of 1745. Other notable features include regalia Queen Victoria gifted to John Brown, her trusted personal aide, as well as several displays dedicated to Highlands archaeology, wildlife, and military history. A very worthwhile visit, we spent about an hour here but you could easily spend longer it's very interesting. The volunteers are also really friendly helpful and with no admission fee what's not to love. Though we did give a donation.

Brilliant museum. Amazing collection of artefacts, with especially rare and fascinating Jacobite memorabilia. Loved the room plan and installations. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.
