Kelvingrove Park, a Sir Joseph Paxton-designed park, is a classic example of a Victorian Park and makes for a refreshing, breathtaking stop in your travels. You can discover the sunlight cottages, the Highland Light Infantry Monument, and the Tom John Honeyman Garden. Marvel at the elegant gardening, which includes five bowling greens, herbaceous borders, riverside walkways, and displays of azaleas and rhododendrons. Step over to the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries while you’re there. For a more active day, visit the children’s play areas, croquet greens, skateboard parks, and four tennis courts. Special events are sometimes scheduled, so check ahead of time to plan accordingly. Make Kelvingrove Park a part of your Glasgow vacation plans using our Glasgow online trip builder.

  • Probably the best park in Glasgow. We visited it in October so it has the perfect autumn atmosphere. Many trees had already yellow and red leaves which is so beautiful. There were some small groups playing ball games and quidditch but you could have a quiet walk if you want because it is so spacey. It is also perfect for a walk with your dog. We saw many squirrels which was really cute.
  • Beautiful and expansive park. It has beautiful walk by the river, trees, paths, grass, bring your dog, partner, have a picnic, or just get away from the city for a while. You’ll sometimes get buskers, see some statues, and walk by the University for more lovely views. Love this park. Even if I’m just passing through the nature is recharging.
