At The Burrell Collection, see one of the world's greatest individual accumulations of art. Wealthy shipping magnate Sir William Burrell acquired some 8,000 works during the 19th and 20th centuries and gave them to the city of Glasgow. View some of them--such as artifacts from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome and paintings from 19th-century French artists--on one of the two daily themed tours. The collection is comprehensive, covering everything from ceramics and weapons to tapestries and stained glass. The museum also hosts temporary exhibits, so see what's on before you visit. You might also enjoy one of the scheduled talks or workshops. A beautifully laid out display of the collection, with imaginative video aids. It makes the London museums look positively 19th century! The new extension is not very attractive from the outside...

Great gardens and grounds for a day out with the family. Some fantastic highland cows, is a must see. Parking cost £2:50 for 4 hours. Restaurant is lovely to but can take your own pack lunch. The Burrell art collection is amazing with 9000 piece to look at.
A museum located inside the pollok country park. The design of the museum is really fantastic! It was cloudy when I set off from Glasgow city centre and when I arrived at the park the weather suddenly cleared up. The roof of the museum is made of glass and the sunlight pours in, it's really beautiful. When I actually started visiting the exhibits, I honestly didn't expect to settle down and read the information on the exhibits at first (because English is not my first language and the museums I visited before they gave long and boring information on the exhibits and I didn't have the patience to read them all) However, this museum gave me a completely different feeling! The information they give next to each exhibit is concise, giving the main information about the exhibit, with easy-to-understand questions to guide the visitor's thinking. I spent about three hours in this museum to finish it, and the whole thing was very interesting!
