At The Burrell Collection, see one of the world's greatest individual accumulations of art. Wealthy shipping magnate Sir William Burrell acquired some 8,000 works during the 19th and 20th centuries and gave them to the city of Glasgow. View some of them--such as artifacts from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome and paintings from 19th-century French artists--on one of the two daily themed tours. The collection is comprehensive, covering everything from ceramics and weapons to tapestries and stained glass. The museum also hosts temporary exhibits, so see what's on before you visit. You might also enjoy one of the scheduled talks or workshops. Before you head to Glasgow, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Glasgow trip itinerary maker site, to make sure you see all that Glasgow has to offer, including The Burrell Collection.

  • The potentially wonderful freel bus service from Pollockshaws West Station has no published bus timetable, no sign on the Bus waiting at the Bus stop, no sign for the Service outside the Burrell...

  • The Burrell collection has got to be one of the best collections of artifacts I have seen. Once you arrive you are greeted by friendly staff who are very helpful on giving me information about the layout. The building is maintained in the highest standards right down to the toilets. There is a cafe which I did not have the chance to try out. The artifacts and paintings blew me away there was so much to see and well presented. There is parking outside which cost me 2.90 but that was a few hours stay. Definitely add this to your visit list.
  • Great gardens and grounds for a day out with the family. Some fantastic highland cows, is a must see. Parking cost £2:50 for 4 hours. Restaurant is lovely to but can take your own pack lunch. The Burrell art collection is amazing with 9000 piece to look at.
