  • Absolutely beautiful place.
  • A beautiful freshwater Loch to canoe / kayak around and explore the islands or take a scenic walk. Obviously no tide to be concerned about if you're taking a boat out. We set off in our canoe from the beach car parking area near the second pier along the North shore, heading ~ 1.25 miles from Morar. Only a small area to park a few cars sensibly here. Spotted a small picnic bench alongside the Loch (enough room for one car) on the way. There's a possibility of driving further on to Bracara where again, there's a small area to park sensibly alongside the Loch ((See map image of routes and put-ins below)). We looked out for Morag the Loch monster, but failed this time 😪 The views, nooks n' crannies of the Islands more than made up for it. The water is crystal clear, but looks black as pitch away from the shoreline, being so deep. The islands between the put-in and Bracara are well worth exploring, taking care not to disturb any nesting birds. We carefully paddled by, listening to the sounds of the birds on the islands ((See videos)). Beautiful Loch and Islands - even when it's cloudy.
