  • Closed in 2021 but open now. Free exhibition and a film about the Vikings in Orkney. Also toilets! If you follow the footpath from the cemetery then you can get to the beach
  • This centre provides background information on the Saga as a literary form as well as information about the Orkneyinga saga specifically and the major characters. Most of the reviews have not highlighted the awesomeness that was the genealogy display for the saga. In retrospect, all Earls of Orkney descending from Nicholas Cage makes total sense. I'm not sure why it isn't always shown that way. I was hoping to find someone to contact for a key to the other portraits, but was unable to. The four vs. five stars is largely because it is not staffed, so there is no one to discuss the information with or to answer questions.
