    Dark and dingy, felt very sorry for anyone who was kept there. Love those old jail doors. Good photo props such as the master jailer desk, hangman, with rope and the, barred gate. Quite atmospheric. There is a lift to upper floors but some steps on way in and jail door thresholds, so beware if using the data recorder player on tour as it is darkish in some areas.

    Historic Jail. Free parking inside. We did chose to use our mobile phone for the audio guide, which worked well and meant that we could all hear the details together. Lots to see and hear. Also we did the Escape Room afterwards, which was great fun. We'd recommend it. Do book in advance though.
