Pay tribute to World War II heroes and learn about the conflict at National Museum of the Pacific War. Located in Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz’s hometown, this museum complex includes three major sites--the Admiral Nimitz Museum, the George H.W. Bush Gallery, and the Pacific Combat Zone. Guided tours, artifacts, documents, weapons, and multimedia presentations illustrate the war in the Pacific. Visit the Japanese Garden of Peace, donated by the government of Japan on the town's 130th anniversary. A single ticket gives you access to all of the sites and is valid for two days. We've visited the museum multiple times over the past 20 years, since it was just the Admiral Nimitz Museum and we've always enjoyed our time at the museums. The seemingly new area (we haven't been to the museum in about 5 years) detailing the life of Admiral Nimitz is fantastic and has a great mix of information graphics, multimedia, artifacts, and interactive activities. The park where they have the PT Boat, map, reenactment amphitheater, etc. was really lovely and it's a short walk from the main museum.

Had a great experience here. The information was imersive with lights and sounds to help better explain conditions and the moment. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to learn more about the war in the pacific. Great for kids and elderly many places to sit and multiple restaurants.
