Friedrich Wilderness Park lies at the southern end of the Texas Hill Country. The park is hilly due to its location on the Balcones escarpment that separates the Texas Hill Country from the flat South Texas region.See Friedrich Wilderness Park and all San Antonio has to offer by arranging your trip with our San Antonio trip itinerary maker website.

Wow! Such a nice park in the middle of a busy area of north San Antonio. A ton of options for trails to follow that you can do a super easy quick walk or a true long hard hike. Definitely need appropriate shoes for any of the #2-4 rated trails. Would recommend hiking shoes as there were areas of dirt and slippery rock even bone dry. Some beautiful views and was shady enough to help with the sun. We will definitely be going back for a longer hike. Be aware of the possible wildlife although we didn’t run into anything other than a lizard. Highly recommend.

Experience nature untouched by humans. Feel supreme relaxation while walking/running along these peaceful meandering paved pathways & trails .. The paths closest to massive (free) parking is ideal for Handicap needs, little rise in elevation, a short distance. . No Pets allowed. I've Never seen trash of any sort here. Pristine! 100's of untouched acreage, nature offers native local Hill Country trees, bushes (many have names posted), comfy benches scattered throughout for admiring/resting, wildlife abounds the further in you explore. Bring water for your enjoyable journey as none is available.
