Tour Dau Go Cave, also known as Wooden Stakes Cave, the largest grotto in the bay. This cave was created approximately 2 million years ago, during the Pleistocene Epoch, and contains a dome that is 25 m (82 ft) high. According to legend, this cave was used to hold wooden stakes during the battle against Mongolians in the 1200s. When you enter the cave, watch for the various stalactite and stalagmite formations throughout. Plan a trip to Halong Bay easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

  • My daughter visited the caves as I was unable to walk the many stairs . She took some great photos and said it was very beautiful. It was very hot and steamy on the walk, wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for many stairs.
  • The nature itself is spectacular. However, the place in general was not very clean and wild as I have expected. The stalls and the litter make the place less impressive in my opinion. It will take you about 20-30 min to walk through the cave.
