Climb 680 steps through lush vegetation into a large grotto at Sung Sot Cave, a part of Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site. Filled with unusual rock formations highlighted by colored lights, the cave features naturally carved limestone in intricately ornate shapes covering its long walls. Stalactites and stalagmites under spotlights create a dramatic effect for spectators in this popular tourist spot. You can see limestone in the shape of a Buddha or a tortoise, with the most famous formation in the shape of a phallic rock under pink spotlights, believed to contribute to fertility. Wow, wow, wow! The best cave I have ever seen. Went there on a Junk Boat and it was fabulous! It keeps getting more amazing as you move through the chambers.

This cave was beautiful, with a walking trail through the cave system. Beware that there are a lot of steps to get in and get back out.

This is surprising an awesome place to understand how beautiful are cave systems. This looks so natural that you will get confused that was it man made or just natural? Walking is not difficult at all. There is a little food 🍱 & gift shop at end of track. Tickets & boat journey can be expensive if you haven’t taken any combo pack or group pack, so take everything in advance. This place does not have ♿️ accessible parking & ♿️ accessible entrance here.

Cave is a one way route. The inside is filled with stalactites and stalagmites. The ceilings of the cave are carved from a prior earthquake where the ocean mixed with the minerals of the cave and created an acid that ate through the rock. There's free toilets at the beginning and end of the cave. The cave inside is cool and similar to an air conditioned room. There's a good viewpoint at the beginning and end of the cave that looks out to the water and the islets.
