  • One reason that Vietnam has progressed so well in last two decades is the significant role it’s women have played. Practically. Every women owns a mobike. Works as much as her mate & contributes...

  • Interesting museum. Provided really fascinating insights into life for everyday women in Vietnam. I found the sections on street vendors and ethnic minorities particularly interesting. More work could perhaps be done to structure/signpost the different elements of the museum but it is still worth having a look if you are interested in how Vietnamese families have lived throughout history. There's also great information concerning the role played by women in the revolutionary campaigns of North Vietnam.
  • If you want to know how Vietnamese women play a role in Vietnamese culture go to this place. I used to think Vietnamese culture is mostly monolithic but this museum taught me how traditions like weddings and marriages vary from tribe to tribe. One surprising fact is, some tribes are matriarchal where children get mothers last name and after wedding the groom leaves to live with his wife’s family. There touching love stories during the war that will move you.
